As far as I can tell, the dating rules have had nothing but a negative impact on my dating life. Some boys have been scared off (a comparison to Machiavelli's "The Prince" has been made) when they shouldn't have been, while others have been encouraged when they shouldn't have been.
Therefore, let it be known: these rules should be understood as general--and hopefully humorous--guidelines to help you in your romantic endeavours, they should not be read as a Handbook to Karen's Heart. Like all women, I stand by the philosophy that "if I have to tell you what to do, it doesn't count." (Aren't women fun?)
I was going to read the rules for entirely the wrong reasons. I see the error of my ways and now I want to go back to Karen's homepage.
I understand that these rules refer to broad generalizations of men and women and that I am an adult who should be able to figure out when to apply the rules and when not to, especially in terms of Karen who so far has only admitted to being represented in one rule which is to always call on Sunday night, dammit, and so I would like to go on to the Dating Rules.
