I am a freelance writer and editor in the San Francisco Bay Area. My specialty is writing about science, medicine and engineering. My background may be in chemistry and biochemistry, but I've written about nanoelectronics, hearing aids, concrete, the evolution of sex, and even a four-year-old golf prodigy. Read some of my writing in Writing Samples. I also offer editing services, primarily for university researchers. Critiquing one's own writing is hard for many people. With my fresh eyes and command of English, I can make that paper or proposal more readable and engaging. Learn more in Editing Services. I have a graduate certificate in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry with emphasis on biochemistry from Harvey Mudd College. I interned or worked at a daily newspaper and three universities before becoming a freelance writer. Learn more in Résumé. My newest project is a book about women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine--and women who have left those fields. If that describes you, I may want to interview you.
