I am a science writer specializing
in the environment, energy, and science policy. As a social
scientist trained in environmental sociology, I enjoy writing
about climate change, conservation, energy use, transportation,
science and society, among other topics.
During graduate school, I became interested
in pursuing a career that would bridge my scientific training
and my dedication to bring science into people’s
lives.
In 2002, I was fortunate to be selected as a Fellow
for the American Association for the Advancement of Science
(AAAS) Mass Media Science and Engineering Summer Fellowship
and spent 10 weeks at Newsweek Magazine in New York City.
After the fellowship, I returned to my university to finish
a Ph.D. in environmental sociology.
My clients include:
- The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
- Washington State University
- University of Idaho
- Luztenhiser Associates
- Alturas Analytics
I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga
Alliance. I teach yoga and meditation classes.
