Central Park Nature Walk

Nesting birds, hovering dragonflies, burgeoning plants: there's an amazing wealth of diverse plant and animal life right in the middle of the city. SWINY board member Polly Schulman has arranged for us to stroll through Central Park with assorted experts and mavericks:

Directions
We will meet, RAIN OR SHINE, at the dock at Turtle Pond, at the south end of the Great Lawn, next to the Delacorte Theater and just north of Belvedere Castle. You can either enter the park on West 81st St. (on the West Side) or on East 79th St. (on the East Side). Bring binoculars, if you have them. DON'T BE LATE:it will be difficult to find us once we head off.

Cost
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST PAY BY CHECK AT THIS EVENT. CAROL DOES NOT WANT TO RISK LIFE AND LIMB BY STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK WITH HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN CASH ON HER. IF YOU COME CHECK-LESS, SHE WILL ASK YOU TO FIND A FRIEND WHO WILL WRITE A CHECK FOR YOU!

SWINY members, $15; SWINY student members (need current student ID), $5; nonmembers, $17. If you are not a member but wish to join, you may pay the $15 annual dues at the event and receive the lower member rate. The dues help cover the cost of the events.
Please note: If you RSVP, you are expected to pay even if you can not attend.

It's important to RSVP:if you don't, we won't have a boxed dinner for you.
