DCSWA’s August 22 event was a contradance at a local ballroom, following a pot-luck dinner at the home of Tim Beardsley and Anna Gillis.

New England

The New England Science Writers and fellow passengers from the Society of Environmental Journalists and the American Medical Writers Association boarded the New England Aquarium July 15 for a media preview of “GEORGES BANK: The Fight For Survival,” a new exhibit portraying the 12,000-square-mile fishing ground located one hundred miles off the New England coast, one of the most productive and bountiful ocean areas in the world but threatened today by overfishing. NESW also scheduled a New England Aquarium whale watch for September 20.
