NOTICES FROM DIANE

Dues Due

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but dues are up and dues are due. The new rate is $75 for regular members, $80 for Canadians, $85 for international members, and $25 for students.

Pay your dues or you’ll be blacklisted! No, I’m just kidding, but you really won’t be able to use your NASW membership card to get in the door at the Denver AAAS meeting.

And if you don’t pay by March 15, you won’t be included in the 2003 membership directory. You can pay your dues the old-fashioned way, by mail, or renew online at nasw.org/NASW/renewals.htm.

New Web Host

In late October, NASW signed an agreement with the Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. and the National Institute of Computer-Assisted Reporting at the Missouri School of Journalism, to host the NASW Web site and Internet operations. The Web site operations moved from the Stanford University servers, where they were hosted for six years, to the IRE/NICAR servers in early November. See “On the Lists” for more information.

NASW Annual Meeting

The NASW annual membership meeting will be held on Sat., Feb. 15, at 4 p.m. in the press briefing room of the AAAS meeting in Denver.

NASW Awards Reception

NASW’s annual awards reception and presentation is slated for Sat., Feb. l5, in Denver. Along with your dues mailing you should have received a reservation form. Send in your $45 now; only prepaid tickets will be issued. You will not be able to buy tickets in Denver!
