The Hot New Diet Drug
This story, a cover article about the diet drug Redux, highlighted the promise and hype
of a new type of diet drug, and also exposed some of the concerns that appeared early in
the marketing of the drug. Redux was later pulled from the market and lawsuits by users
of the drug have only begun to end.

Are We Growing Too Fast
Time asked the question in 1996 of whether the U.S. economy was growing too fast. The conclusion
was that the U.S. had entered a new economic paradigm. This view picked up support over
the next few years, as the technology boom of the late 1990s rewrote to the book on the
way the economy can boom ... and bust.

Ready ... Or Not
In the early summer of 1996, Atlanta was abuzz with worries that the massive building
projects undertaking for the Olympic Games wouldn't be completed on time. The story
chronicles the push to finish the work.
