EVENT DETAILS:
Orchard Beach is in Pelham Bay Park, the largest city park (three times the size of Central Park). Visitors will see the southernmost portion of the New England rocky coast (all points south of Orchard Beach sport sandy beaches); healthy and productive saltmarsh; mature oak-hickory forests; a great Robert Moses project; Long Island Sound vistas; and if they're very, very good, we can swing by the Bartow-Pell Mansion.

GETTING THERE:
The Parks Dept. will provide up to two vans, which together hold a maximum of 24 people. Sign up now to reserve a spot.
The vans will depart at 6 PM from 3rd Avenue and 96th Street (one block east of Subway #6 train stop at 96th and Lex.)

If you plan to travel by car, meet us at 6:30 at the Orchard Beach Nature Center
Driving directions: Take I-95 (Bruckner Expressway) North. Get off at Exit 8B (Orchard Beach/City Island). Go past the war memorial, over the Pelham bridge, and make the first right at the traffic light immediately following the drawbridge (taking the yield sign). This will put you on City Island Road. Continue to the traffic circle and follow the traffic circle three quarters of the way around, following the signs for Orchard Beach.
