Announcing #SciWriThrive: A member-run support space

We’re excited to announce a new, member-organized space for scicomm professionals to talk openly about personal + professional challenges. Career health and mental health are often discussed separately, but they flourish together. The #SciWriThrive network aims to bring together science writers to thrive off our collective support.

Ongoing, one-hour virtual member-run meet-ups will be an opportunity for NASW members to meet informally to network and get peer support. #SciWriThrive is being offered thanks to the leadership of volunteer Andrew Meissen, who has brought his idea to fruition with the support of member Jennifer Welsh and board members Kendall Powell and Erin Ross. Together the group has developed thoughtful guidelines to help participants build a safe space and informally support each other. Deep gratitude to this group for their insightful and caring work on behalf of our community.

We invite you to read more about #SciWriThrive at nasw.org/SciWriThrive and join us for the first meeting:

Tuesday, May 11 at 8:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM EST (Link includes Zoom access info.)

We hope to see you there next week!
