Journalism Committee seeks volunteers

The newly forming NASW Journalism Committee seeks several volunteers to identify and act on ways of broadening and deepening NASW's service to the cause of journalism, in keeping with NASW’s mission, and to help to develop new resources for science journalists.

What's involved: You'll be part a small committee that will start by researching "What do science journalists need? What are the biggest professional challenges? What are the biggest barriers to doing high-impact science journalism? How can NASW help? What would make NASW more relevant to journalists who aren't already members?” Committee members will work together and collaborate with other committees as needed to implement programs and projects that help address the findings.

To volunteer, send an email to journalism@nasw.org with the subject line “Journalism Committee Volunteer” by July 19. Include a few short grafs about yourself, your experiences and interests, what you’d like to see the committee do and some ideas about how you would contribute. At this stage, we are especially interested in a few volunteers who have experience with survey design and analysis.
