The National Association of Science Writers and its Education Committee are pleased to announce the recipients of undergraduate and graduate fellowships to attend the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Denver, Colo., Feb. 15-17.
Open to current NASW Student Members, these travel fellowships are designed for undergraduate students from science majors as well as journalism and communications majors, and graduate students in the sciences, respectively. Recipients receive up to $1,000 each to help offset their costs of attending the meeting. Matched with practicing media professionals as their mentor, travel fellows also will get the opportunity to report on a conference session of their choice, and their work will be published on the NASW website. Together, the fellowships create opportunities for student talents to explore science reporting as a professional skill or career direction.

NASW student programming is organized by the National Association of Science Writers, and is not a program of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. However, NASW extends its thanks to AAAS for its partnership over the years for providing meeting spaces during past Annual Meetings for NASW student programming.
Founded in 1934 with a mission to fight for the free flow of science news, NASW is an organization of ~ 2,800 professional journalists, authors, editors, producers, public information officers, students and people who write and produce material intended to inform the public about science, health, engineering, and technology.
