With 1,364 delegates from 70+ countries, the 10th World Conference of Science Journalists in San Francisco is looking to be a great event. Thanks to all of the volunteer session organizers, speakers, committee members, and scores of others who have been involved in the planning and the many volunteers helping out onsite during the event itself. Registration has closed, and there are no late or onsite registrations. Follow #wcsj2017 for updates from afar.

NASW committees have been busy

The Finance and Information Access committees both welcomed new members this month. Thanks to Mariliynn Marchione for joining the Finance Committee and Catherine Clabby, Teresa Carey, Maggie Fox, and Chelsea Schafer for helping out with the Information Access Committee.

The Education Committee is celebrating 10 years of fellowships for students to AAAS. Check out the retrospective piece from the Summer ScienceWriters.

The Governance Committee, formed just a year ago, spent the summer working on a code of conduct for meetings, and we’re proud to announce that the Board approved it at a recent meeting. The Conference and Meeting Code of Conduct will be in effect for WCSJ2017 and supported in spirit by our event partners. Check out their great work and view the Code of Conduct.

Expect more updates from committees after the annual meeting.

Thanks to everyone!
