The NASW Freelance Committee virtual meetup on August 1 will be a business chat on what to consider when setting your pay rates. To speak on the topic, volunteer event hosts Jennifer Huber and Ellen Kuwana have invited freelance copywriter and editor Erin Brenner.
Erin will share strategies for figuring out what to charge for your services, which depends on many personal factors, such as your preferred client or project type. Erin will also provide an overview of pragmatic guidelines and limitations, such as only having finite hours in a week! And she will take us through when to consider different types of rates (hourly, by word, etc.). This will be an informal presentation, with lots of time for questions and answers.
Note: we will NOT cover specific numbers. The speaker will provide a valuable framework of things to consider.
